The site is managed by the BASF business unit Dispersions & Resins. It has an excellent safety and environmental footprint. The largest Chemical company in the world BASF engaged with DECOM following the decision to demolish 36 different process plants across 2 manufactuing sites.

BASF from the outset that they were concerned over the procurement and management of demolition contractors, the project had previously been tendered and quotes had come back in the region of £4.2m, Decom worked with the clients team to produce robust tender documents and also de-risked the project for demolition contractors, leaving no unknowns or uncertainties for demolition contractors, DECOM engaged with demolition companies reducing the overall cost of demolition by over £3 million, once appointed Decom managed the contractors on-site ensuring the highest standard in Safety were followed at all times, the project involved decommissioning and demolition of complex process plants, some heavily contaminated experimental plants that had not operated in over 30 years, the project was delivered on time and under the original budget.
