One of the worlds largest Oil & Gas companies engaged with DECOM to support in the removal of a redundant plant from its manufacturing site in the U.K. The site had been redundant for some time and had a number of complex issues and had been left in an unknown condition. DECOM were brought in to manage the project through to completion, from carrying out HAZDEM study, to managing isolations, writing scope of work documentation, CDM documentation, procurement documentation, to managing the appointed demolition contractor throughout the works.

Demolition Project Managers

DECOM first carried out a HAZDEM study ensuring that all unknowns and uncertainties surrounding the plant were captured from the outset. Following the HAZDEM DECOM planned the decontamination and full isolation of the plant ensuring positive isolations were in place where possible. During the isolation process DECOM wrote the tender documents and carried out appraisal on all demolition companies. Once the contractor was appointed DECOM managed all works on a daily basis, reviewing RAMS, checking competencies, issuing permits to work, daily briefings, attending clients daily meetings, coordinating contractors and other contractors on site, managing road closures, advise to demolition contractor on complex dismantling and methodology. All works were carried out on time to budget with no accidents or incidents.
